Note : In the latest version of Rufus (3.5), there’s now an option to download the ISO image for Windows 8.1 or 10 directly through Rufus, if you don’t already have a copy saved. Then using the Startup Disk Creator app in Ubuntu, I was able to create the USB installer for OPNsense. Rufus will open a file explorer browser window locate the ISO image you want to burn onto the USB and select it.

My end solution was to take the USB drive to my Ubuntu Box. I did try ISO Editor but that will not run due to a missing.

Now I have a 32 GB USB 3 thumb drive and I want to install various 3, 4, maybe more rescue disks plus on this one thumb drive. Once again it wont burn the image to the flash drive. I'm a happy camper using Rufus to create a bootable USB from just one ISO. I tried with PowerISO but all that has is an option to burn a bootable image to USB. I have Rufus but it complains that it is a non bootable ISO file. RUFUS is not compatible with various created multiboot live iso’s posted all over the net from Falcon’s 4.6, HBCD.

I recovered the USB stick by using Rufus on the Windows 10 box to write something else over it that I know works (in this case an Ubuntu img). I am pulling out my hair her trying to figure this out. Tried an Ubuntu box, a Windows 10 box, and a Windows 7 box just to check, and none of them could read the stick or boot from the stick.

When trying to boot to the USB all systems just skip over it. However, it leaves the USB drive unreadable by Windows.
